I had this feeling it had been months since I'd updated my knitting projects here, but looking back I see it has been just over a month since the last substantive update. Why did I think it had been so long? Quite frankly, because I've finished so many things!
That's two pairs of bed socks (pattern from Mel Clark's blog Slip Slip Knit), two Leisl cardigans and a boucle Urchin (patterns by Ysolda), one handspun (mine and my Mum's) draught stopper (requested by a sister), a pink cardigan (made for me, but gifted to Mum as a better fit), one cotton baby hat from LMKG) and a tiny cotton bunny (for my latest great-niece), a handspun potholder (an exercise in stash reduction), and most recently a grey cap-sleeved cardi (from Drops Design), and a cabled hood (adapted from a "harf" pattern in Intertwined).
There's plenty more detail on all of these projects in my Ravelry Notebook, if you're curious! And if you're not a member of Ravelry (and you care at all about kntitting, crochet, etc.), why the heck not?!
Right now I'm waiting for some paint to dry, and it's actually a little exciting. I've painted some giant iceblock sticks - from the craft shop - to serve as hangers for a mobile I'm making. With little knitted cotton hearts in two shades of pink, this is another gift for my newest family member, Emily Jasmine. Just some sewing, stuffing and asssembly, and it'll be ready to send off to Perth.
Next on the agenda are a cardigan for Dad, a couple of cardigans for me, and a bag for a swap. I hope to make some progress on those before August 8! Not because that's my birthday (it is), but because with the kick off for the Olympics, I'm beginning an event in the Ravelympics, a KAL (that's a knit-a-long for the uninitiated) wherein I shall attempt to complete a challenging project in 17 days. I'm pretty sure the longline sweater dress I've chosen to knit in mohair will be a challenge, and so will require a lot of focus...
For now though, I'm off to swatch for my Dad's cardigan. It's a horrible day (there are weather warnings and alerts all over the place) and so inside knitting is the place to be. And should the power go out, I can always knit by candlelight.
Just ROCO, ok?
Have a great weekend too. :-)
now imagine an office of pianist as far as the eye can see typing and you have an orchestra
not much gets by the orchestra in fact a lot of underwriters have already found a vox blog
and to not add me as a neighbor because of my misspellings is common though i wouldn't call it embarrassing but just common
in fact there was a time when i was arguing with a more popular blond guy with a faster bike and i removed him from my friends page because he was a more popular blond guy with a faster bike
anyway i guess i am gonna stay the next couple of months after all the manager didn't have intent and i might look for a small rental house making it a lot harder by Texas law for any wrecker driver to get past my front line
So, today my interview with Tara of BlondeChickenBoutique was posted on her blog! It is part of her "Fiber Friday" postings as well as part of a series of interviews with full-time fiber artists! Please check it out!
It is also why I may be posting a bit about doing this full-time. There were some things I thought of after the interview, and also think there may be other useful things I could share. I may get to posting that later today, but definitely hope to include it as part of my daily posts next week!
and there's no question that a wrecker is a wrecker weather public or private and these laws adhere
and there's no question that the apartments are railroaded to signing a contract that has those laws in it [as i jokingly use the term railroaded]
i know one apartment in Dallas that has no wrecker service for the last year and they have pulled a 99% occupancy rate for over a year and when there is a parking problem they raise the rent 30 dollars relieving the occupancy rate and reducing the cars its a win win situation
I have a new FunctionArt art yarn listed in my shop - it is a colorway I've done before but as always this one is a little different. I think this batch of fiber was a bit darker and I used some different yarns I didn't have when I spun the other one - one skein has sold already but here is the other one - "Compendium" -
I
also wanted to write a bit about how things are going now that I'm
full-time, but, honestly? I think I'm going back to bed for a bit! :) I
think I will post again later, though.
Seen on dewitte's blog. :-)
there was a time when i lived here and felt peace my home was a place of santuary
then i watched one man and his hinch men ruin a bunch of minimum wage workers and family's financial conditions for his god money
and what makes this whole thing funny is that the very company that the management here is an affiliate of specializes in class action in San Francisco
and class action is usually protecting consumers from one man and his hinch men ruin a bunch of minimum wage workers and family's financial conditions for his god money
now to find peace to watch tv and diddle on the computer on my off hours i have to look for a place where i can once again have sanctuary at home and a change of address and a change of phone ..if the main company knew that all there protecting of consumers in sanfrancisco was being done in reverse by some wrecker company their affileate hired they most likely wouldnt allow hireing them
went to the managers office today and requested a motion to dismiss the last 2 months of my lease or even one month as i do not feel any trust with and i just cant sleep well because of the towing of so many people with old stickers ...you would think that the wrecker driver would have began to think something is wrong after about the tenth car with nothing but an old sticker and he did know the dot has the list from that night and the video of them useing the wall mart parking lot to pool the cars has bin secured by the wall mart and belongs to the wall mart attorneys
Blogging from Helsinki tonight, briefly. If ever in Helsinki I recommend you eat at Savotta Restaurant near Senate Square and the national church. Good stuff, especially the whitefish and Karelian stew. (I will add in hyperlinks when I get home later but tonight I am tired.) I wish I could post a pic but the PC I am on is sort of old and does not have an SD Card slot for me to transfer images. Helsinki was picture post card perfect today, not too hot, not too cold, bright blue skies with puffy white clouds. I will have to post a long summary of my trip after I get home and recover from the jet lag. With the exception of a minor terfuffle with my mother this afternoon, it has been overall quite a grand and refreshing vacation, and much needed after working 2 jobs for many months.
That, by the way, is done: when I return to the States, I will be back to working only one 40 hour per week job only. Sweet relief! More on that later too.
As for now, bedtime. Nuku hyvin!
